Major Special Project of the Autonomous Region - Key Technology Research and Demonstration of Comprehensive Utilization of Bitter and Saltwater in Southern Xinjiang

In 2016, the major special project "Research and Demonstration of Key Technologies for Comprehensive Utilization of Bitter and Salty Water in Southern Xinjiang" led by the company aimed to address the characteristics of widespread distribution, abundant resources, small utilization ratio, and no receiving water bodies for land discharge in the region. The project involved low-cost desalination of bitter and salty water, development of common technologies, key equipment research and system integration, and the research and development of intelligent low-cost bitter and salty water desalination treatment equipment, concentrated salt ionization processors, salt resistant and corrosion-resistant micro irrigation equipment, and other key equipment for bitter and salty water desalination and utilization, which were integrated and applied. The project adopts the desalination of brackish water into brackish water, planting alkaline grass with brackish water, blending alkaline grass with feed for animal husbandry, and industrial salt production from concentrated salt water, which completely changes the model of saline alkali land management and is innovative. Research on the selection of planting and breeding species, as well as breeding techniques, to achieve high-end industries and high added value, and form a stable income industry chain. Promote and apply in the southern Xinjiang region to increase farmers' income, promote the development of local agriculture and animal husbandry, and achieve poverty alleviation and prosperity for farmers.

This project has applied for 8 patents, edited 1 industry standard, developed 1 new formula and 2 new products, has a membrane material production line with a capacity of 200000 m2, and a set of 0.5m3/h demonstration devices.
